Toyota intends to introduce fuel battery vehicles by 2015
Toyota Motor Company intends to launch a limited edition to the global hydrogen fuel battery vehicles in 2015, limited because of the price of the fuel battery vehicles is relatively high.
Toyota Europe vice president of product planning and sales Alain Uyttenhoven said: “We expect Europe to launch a fuel battery vehicle, the retail price of about 10 million euros ($ 137,000).”
EU requirements in 2015, the average vehicle emissions of carbon dioxide per kilometer shall not exceed 130 grams per kilometer by 2020 no more than 95 grams. To meet the EU’s strict emissions standards, the car manufacturers have increased the green technology research and development efforts.
Next year Toyota will begin selling plug-in hybrid version of the Prius, the version of the vehicle in pure electric mode of travel up to 23 km, rather than the hybrid version of the Prius in electric mode only driving 2 km.
