Inaddition to the battery,do not forget there are also problems with CCD

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 4:09 am

I think all of us for a sony battery  pack has been familiar with the incident, so this is not too tire references. However, some old friends may find this all very familiar, as if before there is a similar incident … Yes, in fact, in almost a year ago, Sony has also been on a bad fall in the CCD: As a manufacturing process error, Sony forced to recall several models of pcga-bp2nx, including several also use their own manufacturers to CCD in the standard. In fact, Sony for the recovery should be only experienced.

But then why is it suddenly mentioned this old news? This, of course, because it has become news again! Yes, Sony once again declared to be recovered CCD. The problem remains the same with the last, there are two models listed in the list of recovery: PCGA-BP2R, PCGA-BP2S. If the contrast with the last, almost by Sony then launched the aircraft have been recovered the round. After a year of being at that time to clean up the mess, we should be able to foresee the events of this pcga-bp2v will spend, how long will completely solve it! Poor Sony, I hope you can sell the PS3, at least it will not explode …

Lenovo And Blackberry Join Forces

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 10:49 pm

Lenovo and Research in Motion, makers of Blackberry phones, have joined forces to offer “Lenovo Constant Connect” which will allow us to receive emails sent from our BlackBerry phone even when our Lenovo ThinkPad(Presario NX9010, Presario NX9000) is turned off. Cool!

If you’re in the US then it will be available before Pavilion ZT1100 summer but everyone else will have to wait a bit longer as it won’t be available until later in 2009.

Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo Chief Executive said “with more and more mobile professionals relying on both their BlackBerry SmartPhone and ThinkPad Pavilion XZ200 laptop PC, we view better integration between the two devices as a necessity”.

By now you must be wondering what the catch is? Well there’s none really except that you’ll have to buy the Omnibook XT1000 Constant Connect ExpressCard which will set you back about $150.

But, we have no idea how easy the installation is Omnibook XT1500 likely to be. Apparently all you have to do is follow the instructions and use the card to pair the phone and the laptop together using Bluetooth features.

I don’t mean to be cynical but we already have the facility to connect our F1739A laptop to the internet via Bluetooth wireless technology and this can be quite a tricky process, ok so our laptop must be on to do it.

If this new feature can installed without too much hassle, and I hope it can, emails will automatically be transferred straight to the laptop even if the 337607-003 laptop is turned off. How?

Simply by the low power “always on” ExpressCard of course! If the Pavilion ZT3000 laptop is off, new emails are stored in flash memory.

If you want to send emails and you don’t have an Internet connection, then you can do that via the BlackBerry’s 3G feature. No more paying fees for Wi-Fi when on your travels. Pretty clever eh?

Jim Balsillie, Research in Motion chief executive states “by leveraging the industry-leading push-based connectivity of the BlackBerry solution, Lenovo Constant Connect will simplify email synchronisation on the laptop, and provide mobile professionals with greater flexibility to manage their email on the move”.

Sounds pretty good to me so far!

Oh, forgot to mention, to begin with it will only work with 337607-001 Microsoft’s Outlook but Lenovo are working on supporting Lotus Notes too. You also have to have a pretty recent ThinkPad machine, like one that was made in the last year for example, but BlackBerrys made in the last few years should be fine.

Personally I must admit I quite like the idea of flipping open my laptop to write a quick email without going to the bother of setting up a connection first. That’ll do me.

Battery Web Partners with ICP Solar Technologies

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 12:42 am

As the global energy crisis worsens many industries are looking to solar technology to provide alternative sources of power that will prove cleaner, cheaper and more efficient than oil or gas. BatteryWeb.com and ICP Solar Technologies have announced a partnership that will combine the retail prowess of Battery Web with the innovative solar technologies of ICP to promote alternative energy as a next generation power source.

Throughout the world sustainable energy is fast becoming the top priority of every developed country since oil and natural gas supplies are finite and drilling has become more difficult and less productive. Conflicts due to energy shortages continue to plague Russia, Ukraine the European Union and every nation that depends on oil from the Middle East. Politics, war and a depressed global economy have severely hampered the delivery of gas and oil and now many nations and industries are investing in solar power research and development to harness the power of the sun and end the world’s dependence on crude oil.

Since 1988 ICP Solar Technologies has been leading the charge in finding new and better ways to produce sustainable energy for everything from consumer electronics and car batteries to solar panels and solar chargers. Thinkpad T61 : update to the T60

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 9:30 pm

The new CPUs from Intel, including the T7300(92p1077) in the ThinkPad T61, all include some power saving and performance boosting features. One feature is called Enhanced Dynamic Acceleration, which will power down one core of the CPU when it’s not needed, and use some of the power saved to boost the still-active core, giving it more speed. On top of that the FSB has been increased from 667MHz to 800MHz, providing more bandwidth and faster communication between the CPU, the memory and the chipset.

New switchable graphics, LCD backlit displays, and DisplayPort technology features give you superior graphics performance on your ThinkPad T Series notebook. Experience brighter, crisper colors and lower power consumption life with the new LED backlit displays on the ThinkPad T Series. These new displays are bright without sacrificing battery life, with 25% brighter displays and using 2W less power than conventional CCFL displays. These high-resolution displays also contribute to the thin and light design of ThinkPad T Series notebooks, weighing 70 grams lighter than conventional displays. Users who travel frequently will appreciate the wide dimming range of the LED backlit display. This allows you to reduce brightness while still experiencing a crisp, comfortable display in dim environments such as an aircraft cabin. Finally, to protect the environment, our LED backlit displays are mercury-free.

One major feature the Centrino Pro ThinkPad T61 has over the Centrino Duo Thinkpad R61 is the inclusion of Intel’s Active Management Technology. You get a faster processor front side bus (800MHz), more processor cache (4MB) and an improved integrated graphics solution in the form of the Intel X3100. If all that talk is nonsense to you, then suffice it to say the T61 offers newer and better processing components than the T60.

Battery Life : Thinkpad T61 battery is 6-Cell battery. It can last about 2 hours 15 minutes, check the reduce screen refresh option and you can gain a couple of minutes of battery life, and the interface will show you that approximation. But you d better buy a cheap thinkpad T61 battery replacement in www.todaybattery.com. The Thinkpad T61 battery also fits for thinkpad R60.

In all the ThinkPad T61 Widescreen is the latest in Lenovo’s ThinkPad T-series of world-class laptops that have stood the test of time among corporate professionals. But the transition is now complete - the T61 is the first ThinkPad in PC Pro not to feature the IBM logo at all - and we’re relieved to say that the ThinkPad range is none the worse for it.

If you want to buy a t61 please visit Lenovo.com first.

Laptop Specials, Just Beware !!

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 11:16 pm

Laptop specials are for two kinds of people: Users who need a laptop now and don’t care what they’re getting, and people who know a little something about laptops, know a great deal when they see it, and can upgrade a mediocre laptop into something truly special.

If you’ve been longing for something to play Gears of War 2 on, and you had your eye on that Alienware rig until someone put a blue light special on a laptop that’s been out of production for three or four years, just go ahead and get the Alienware rig. In a recession like this one, there’s always that temptation to spend less wherever we can, but make sure you know what you’re getting. If the laptop doesn’t even do what you needed it to do, then you can’t really say you got a deal on it.

When laptops go on sale, they tend to go on sale for a reason. That reason can be anything from a store or online shop overstocking a product, to the retailer realizing that these laptops just plain suck, and he needs to get rid of them fast to make room for something good.

Here’s our basic advice on this subject: Keep an eye out for great deals, sales, and specials, but do your research before making a purchase.

Whenever you see a big blowout on laptops, make a note of the units on sale, then look them all up online. Check out user reviews, read the specs, and if it sounds like a good deal, go for it. The last thing you want to do is just grab the cheapest unit you can without knowing a thing about it. Sometimes, you can find a real gem hidden inside a sale full of outdated junk.

If you just think of it from a retailer’s point of view, it makes perfect sense. The vast majority of laptops that go on sale… they only go on sale because nobody’s buying them. Sometimes people aren’t buying them because, even though it’s not a bad laptop, it’s over priced. Other times, people aren’t buying them simply because they’re not worth buying.

So that’s the basic rule of laptop specials; Go ahead and see what they’re offering, because you might just save a lot of money on a great laptop, just don’t fall prey to sale-shopper syndrome, where you gotta have it just because it’s cheap. In other words, specials can be great, but don’t put any money down until you’ve done your homework.

Buy electric car battery “six pay attention”

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 8:32 pm

Consumers Association of Chengdu recently to remind: the market of electric vehicle batteries, nearly 30% of the unqualified, to purchase electric car batteries to the “six pay attention.”
First, see electric vehicle batteries complete signs, including the manufacturer name, product model or specifications, the date of manufacture, trademark, polarity symbols, signs and other environmental protection; Show outside the markers is consistent, in particular, to check whether there is eye-catching product ontology logo, because the quality inspection departments in the testing is based on the product logo ontology.

What is the Purpose of the Supercapacitor?

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 9:11 pm

The supercapacitor resembles a regular capacitor with the exception that it offers very high capacitance in a small package. Energy storage is by means of static charge rather than of an electro-chemical process that is inherent to the battery. Applying a voltage differential on the positive and negative plates charges the supercapacitor.

This concept is similar to an electrical charge that builds up when walking on a carpet. The supercapacitor concept has been around for a number of years. Newer designs allow higher capacities in a smaller size. Supercapacitors are relatively expensive in terms of cost per watt. Some design engineers argue that the money would be better spent in providing a larger battery by adding extra cells. But the Supercapacitors and chemical battery are not necessarily in competition. Rather, they enhance one another.

Apple Macbook Sales On Holidays

Filed under: Battery tips — todaybattery @ 9:09 pm

It looks like Steve Jobs has been feeling particularly festive as of late, and although reports of him strolling around LA decked out in a full Santa costume and handing out Ipods as if they were sweets are unconfirmed, what has been confirmed is that Apple will be having a Christmas sale over the holiday season.

With prices being slashed by as much as 15 per cent on selected hardware, it truly will be a Christmas to remember for fans of the brand, and Christmas lists across the country have just got a lot longer.

The news is already starting to spread, with Apple resellers advertising reductions in their stores of up to $100 (£64) off of a Macbook. This is quite a considerable bonus, with such amounts usually not allowed by Apple.

As well as this, Apple Store managers have been given express orders to make sure they match the Black Friday discounts across the country.

Apple fans are an enthusiastic lot, and you will not be at all surprised to hear that a blog exists that follows in detail the retail operations of the computer giant. I imagine posts are going through the roof on the IFO Apple Store blog this week, and it has already revealed that if a shopper brings in an advert of a better offer from a reseller, the store will drop the price to match it.

But before you get too excited, it seems that Ipods and Iphones are not on this particular Christmas list, and the offer will only apply to selected laptop models.

It is all a bit of a change for Apple, who have never previously provided Black Friday discounts. However, desperate times call for desperate measures, and I’m sure they can tempt a few more shoppers into their stores over the next few weeks with such tantalizing treats.
